Taker fees apply when your order matches resting orders (market orders, and limit orders that fill at once). A limit order that rests on the book is a maker order and is free. 25% of taker fees in Sports markets are paid back to liquidity providers daily via Polymarket's Maker Rebates Program.

How Polymarket Fees Work
Fees are not flat — they depend on both the market category and the current probability. The formula Polymarket uses is:
The p × (1 − p) multiplier peaks at 50% probability and approaches zero near 1% or 99%. The closer an outcome is to certain, the cheaper the trade — you pay the most when the market is most uncertain.
